Changing Your Retirement Plan is Easier than You Think

 In Dental Retirement

Most of the plan sponsors we meet with are very busy people and running their company 401(k) plan is not their main job. This is truer for many of the dentists we meet with because not only are they practicing dentistry, they are heavily involved in running the business itself. Acting as the CEO, CFO, DMD/DDS, and many other roles leaves no time to act as the plan sponsor of a retirement plan. That’s where we come in.

Our job is to make our clients’ lives easier. Recently we’ve had a few new clients say they almost didn’t make a change because they thought the process would be too time consuming. This is understandable, but is a common misconception. We do all the leg work behind the scenes and keep as much off your plate as possible. Like I said before, our goal is to make your lives’ easier, not harder.

If you think a change in your retirement plan advisor, recordkeeper, TPA, etc. will take a while, consider two things:

1. We will quarterback the transition, coordinating all parties involved.

2. Not making a change could cost you more time.

If you choose not to make a change for fear that it will take too long, consider that if the change is not made it could cost you money towards retirement. With less money ending up in your retirement account, the longer you have to work. So foregoing a minor change could cost you years of retirement because you will have to work longer.

When you decide a change is needed, let us know. We are always here to help.
